Pre-Conference Workshop
FINANCE 101 for PHYSICIANS
Thursday, September 11, 2:30 – 5:30 PM
Whether you’re new to leadership or a seasoned partner, Finance 101 for Physicians is your opportunity to demystify the financial fundamentals that drive your practice. This highly interactive session—drawing from the curriculum of the Physician Leadership Project and led by national medical group finance expert, Jill Arena and senior physician leader Anne Hirsch, MD—will walk you through the basics of financial statements, budgeting, and reimbursement systems, with a deep dive into the RBRVS model and how it shapes revenue in a physician practice.

You’ll learn to interpret key metrics like overhead percentage, Return On Investment, and break-even points, and understand the real-world impact of payer mix and insurance contract terms. Come and ask all the finance questions you’ve ever wanted answers to in a comfortable environment where every topic is on the table. By the end, you’ll know how to read a Profit & Loss, grasp the language of your finance team, and see clearly how money flows through your organization. It’s the perfect foundation to confidently step into CPOMP’s “Real Estate 101” breakout session—and beyond. This pre-conference session will take place before CPOMP 2025 Kickoff reception begins on Thursday, September 11, 2025. When you register for CPOMP 2025, you can add on this pre-conference session.
